You have to constantly shake your body up to confuse it. If you are weeks with no weight loss, try upping the calories a bit, remember, when your body gets used to what your're doing to it, it slows down your metabolism. Just shake things up.

Yah Lucy, you are right. I read on ediets fitness that on every 4th day, you should increase your calories by about 300. This revs up the metabolism and keeps you losing. This won't make you gain. Your body actually speeds up to burn those extra cals. That is why you are so hungry the day after you go to a buffet for dinner.

I do agree that exercise helps the situation, especially weight lifting and some cardio in the fat-burning heart rate zone.

Wow, that was really negative. What works for some doesn't always work for others, to each their own. I personally love hearing when people are succeeding, even if it isn't what works for me.

I have to be careful with my exercise - I have a weird heart arrhythmia and anything that gets my heart pumping at a high level scares the you-know-what out of me. Being a stay-at-home-mom with a 4 & 2 year olds keep me pretty busy without workouts.

ok can someone give me the run down? What do I do to get out of the stall? All I have time for is to work out 1/2 hr. a day b/c I am a single mom of an 18 month old but should I add something different or change my carb intake. I eat about 20 a day, I increased my vegies, and I started just yesterday eating a Atkins bar for breakfast b/c I teach second grade and really don't get time to eat breakfast. I don't eat past 6pm and I drink so much water I feel like I could float away, but I'm about to crack and go crazy on that scale b/c it refuses to go down. Any advise?

look at my journal; I'm doing a PSMF (i explain it in there so you don't have to buy the ebook) I was in a huge stall and have lost a pound a day so far...not too shabby; in short its low fat/low carb/high protein...check it out if you want to; its strict but i find it to be easy now; especially easy if you love salad and veggies!

by the way; don't eat the atkins bars..they stalled me..i eat them as a 'treat' every now and then. If you must have a quick fix choose the atkins shakes..they are a MUCH healthier alternative and aren't loaded with the net carbs mumbo jumbo; 5 total carbs, 4 of them are fiber..the chocolate is the best

Lack of calories this week made me stall. THat's all I can figure. I started exercise, but just yesterday. I can't live and breathe the scale. It makes me crazy. In NOvember I found out I was prediabetic. Up until that time I drank five or six regular cokes a day. I thought when I stopped drinking them which I did the day before Thanksgiving, the weight would fall off. It didn't. In fact I quit eating bread, sugar, potatoes, etc...and nothing...not until I started Atkin's. So I feel grateful for that.

I just had a baby 5 months ago. I started low carbing and exercising right after 1 months of giving birth. I started with three days a week and I am now exercising 5 days a week. I do lots of cardio as well as weight lifting. I breastfeed my baby so at the beginning I added one fruit or low carb whole grain bread a day. I thought it was preventing the weith loss so I cut those out. So far I lost only 10 LBS and nothing in the past 6 weeks. I am really furstrated. All hard work and no result.

Hi People

I seem to have broken my stall. Yipee! I upped my carbs a bit to confuse my body and I upped my excersice including a combination of strength and aerobic excersice. Mind you I don't go nuts, i'm lucky if I can do half an hour.

The other difference is that I have started taking suppliments.

Stay with It Dinahb. I think alot of that is about your body trying to adjust. You are so close to the end that giving up now would be like stopping 10 feet before the race.

If you are not gaining then you are doing well!
