Smile Turkey Burgers

1 lb of ground turkey
1 egg beaten real well
1 1/2 cups of TVP (texturized vegetable protein)
1/2 cup chinese bbq sauce (smokey, sweet taste) or
1 can of chipotles in adobo sauce (very spicey)
1 garlic clove pressed

Mix ingredients together. Let sit for 30 minutes.
Mold into 7-8 burgers.

freeze first, then cook
(gives the tvp time to absorb all the moisture and make a nice firm burger)

I have never seen TVP in the store. Where do you buy it? Is there a subsitute? The turkey burgers sound good!

No, there's no substitute, and I get my TVP (Texturized Vegetable Protein) from a bin in Whole Foods Market.

I bought some liquid smoke last weekend, and threw this into the mix..
What an astounding flavor.
