Unhappy 1st Week of XMas Challenge

10/26/01 - 262
10/29/01 - 262

Considering the lousy week I had I guess I should be happy I didn't gain. Will just have to try harder in the future.

Wendy.

Thumbs up Needing some additional motivation

Well I 've lost 45.5 pounds on my own so far, but am at a major plateau. I need motivation. This Christmas challenge with all of this support may just be what I need. I'm a newbie by the way to this site. Looks great.

Ok. You've all convinced me, I'm in too.
Today's weight 154lbs (but due for TOM tomorrow, so not sure how inflated (bloated?) that number actually is)
25 by Christmas puts me at 129lbs , one lb under goal. Woohoo!
Don't know if I will make it as that's a little over 3lbs a week, but will try.
My minigoal is 4lbs by Nov 11, my two year lc anniversary.

Cool weekly weigh-in

I just went to the doctor this morning and I am down 15 lbs since starting induction 2 weeks ago.!

I'm more than halfway to 25 lbs loss by Christmas.

I don't know what you were losing before, but 2 pounds in one week is FABulous. The closer to goal, the slower it gets - you have less percentage of body fat to lose.... so 2 pounds on the smaller person that you are is a lot!

I know.. I'm very lucky to have lost as much as I did. Just am use to big loses then it slows down when I am near my goal. I am my worst critic. Everyone says I look great and shouldn't lose anymore but I still see little pieces of fat on me. Thanks for the encouragement.

I've lost 1lb since Monday - perhaps I shouldn't weigh myself every day but I feel I need to know how I'm doing.

Start weight: 154
Today: 153

Will post again next Monday - what should I weigh each week to lose 25 lbs by Christmas?

I AM DEFIANTLY UP FOR THIS CHALLENGE!!!

last time I weighed was 10/23...was down 10 lbs then.

Because of my shift...I cannot weigh mondays all the time...I work on rotation, and want to get a good nights sleep and a good morning bathroom trip before I weigh. So my next Weigh day will be....Nov 3

Even tho I haven't weighed myself for a while, I sure feel it melting off of me. I feel like I have lost 10 more at least. I know that is not realistic...but that is how it feels. Another 10 lbs and I won't be able to wear my wedding rings. They are already so loose. [My perfect indicator of how I am doing] My jeweler is gonna freak...I just got him to make them bigger...HAHAHA Perhaps he will have to size them so many times, that I will just have to get a different set. I'm thinkin' with a bigger rock...Yes I think that would be the ultimate gift for reaching my goal. Now if I could just get the ol' miser off the couch and into a jewellery store...Hmmmmm....LOL....I am getting a head of my self here...Oh ya right...ok...25 lbs for Christmas. I am definitely in!!!
Off to take the dog for a run. [Okay...not that motivated yet. She can run...I'll just lag behind..LOL]

Your reply is great encouragement for me. I mistakening got on the scales after only 2 days - couldn't stand it anymore - scales showed about 1 lb - but I put on clothes this morning that were quite restricting last time and I think I'll be able to hang in them all day today, so...... maybe it is working!

I say you go girl for that new set of jewerly - maybe when he sees how good your looking, he'll get off that couch and quick! Keep up the good work.

Thanks for replying and have a great day!!!

I've only lost 2 pounds in a week, and I'm on Atkins' induction (2nd week)!
Is it normal that I've lost so little?

(The 180lbs that I said I started with was probably an exageration - I had no scales before I started, and I FELT that lardy!)

We have to be losing an average of 3lbs a week to succeed, & I haven't reached my "plateau" yet. This is beginning to appear unattainable.

Motivation required...

I'm new to this too - but not to the diet scene in general but maybe you are just eating too much - remember calories DO count! Drinking lots of water also helps and of course that dreaded E word (exercise) Maybe if you aren't doing any of these, trying them could help jump start your ole engine!?

Good luck and PS whats the PP plan?

Remember they do count, and most people tend to not eat enough when starting out on this WOL, a hold over from low fat / restricted calorie FAD diets. 10 to 12 times your body weight is the minimum you should be eating to keep your body functioning and not bring on starvation mode.

Jeff, I found your original post in the Group Journal and moved it to Introductions and replied. Why not stop over and introduce yourself.
