My appologies if this topic has already been covered but...

Do you listen to music when you workout? If so, what? What kind of music motivates you?

I would really like to hear some thoughts on this since I am getting bored of listening to the same old stuff....this might be a good thread for a mix cd!

Any kind of dance music is good. Personally i like Prince. His music really gets me moving. My instructor for my class has an awesome mix of 80's dance music. Lots of goofy stuff from then.

What a wonderful question! I like to mix songs since I have a cd burner, but right now I am exercising to "In Grid". Sounds very different but has good rythm.

I listen to a little bit of everything except Rap. Rap music to me is too distracting and does not motivate me at all to train hard.

I've been ejoying classic rock lately. Not sure why, but it's sounding pretty good right now.

When I'm doing stationary bike cardio, I like to watch music videos of fit-looking women......Madonna, Britney, Beyonce... motivates me to work hard. When doing my circuit weights workout, I like to listen to my fave cd's..... U2, Pearl Jam, classic rock....... helps my mind drift from the boredom of the circuits. However, when doing intense lifting, and any outdoor cardio, I like no music..... just concentrating on my body working, my breathing, etc.

lol
Thanks for your answers, everyone. I really find a variety of music to distract from the chore that excercising sometimes becomes

One of my aerobics instructors has a good ABBA/Early 80s Madonna mix that I really like.

I also like the new Gwen Stefani weird dance album songs. Strangely enough, some beatles also works (Back in the USSR).
