Default Chayote "Apple" Cobbler [Carbquik]

Cake part of recipe comes from Blackberry Cobbler recipe. I have used chayote squash, found in most major suppermarkets in specialty fresh produce section and Splenda syrup from Nature's Flavors
http://www.naturesflavors.com/advan...words=apple+pie

Chayote “Apple” Cobbler

1/2 cup heavy cream
2 teaspoons oil
liquid Splenda equivalent to 1/2 cup sugar
1 cup CarbquickMix
2 chayote squash
˝ cup apple pie flavored splenda syrup
1 teas. cinnamon
dash nutmeg
dash salt

Preheat oven to 375F. Grease a 2-quart casserole and set aside.

Peel, pit & slice 2 chayote squash and slice thinly as you would crisp apples.
Simmered, covered until tender in ˝ cup Splenda sweetened apple pie flavored syrup. (I bought this from Nature’s Flavors, Inc.) This takes about 20 minutes.
Then add 1 teas. cinnamon & dash of nutmeg, a dash of salt.

Mix first 4 ingredients and spread in casserole dish.
Pour “apple” mixture in casserole dish.
Bake about 45 minutes.
Serve with Splenda sweetened whipped cream. (add carb count)
