Just an update:

I finally got my HealthCheck paperwork and I'm going to get my blood drawn today. This is great because then I think I'll start taking an half of a levoxyl every other day and hopefully feel a little better in a week or so.

2.5 weeks until I get to see my doctor though.

Well, it is Wednesday and still don't have my results from Healthcheckusa.com

I think taking 25% more syn-T4 is helping me. I'm losing the brain fog a little and I think some of the fluid I've been retaining. My feet are slipping around in my shoes a bit.

Give HealthCheck a call. Their web service isn't working, but if you call them, they'll email your results if they have them. 800 929 2044

ah ha! Here they are....

Looks like I have a conversion issue? What do you guys think?
Code:
Laboratory Results Test Code Description Result Range Units 3693 FREE THYROXINE (FT4) 1.5 0.8 - 1.8 NG/DL 4145 TRIIODOTHYRONINE FREE 2.2 2.3 - 4.2 PG/ML 4536 TSH (3RD GENERATION) 2.044 0.35 - 5.50 MCIU/ML

T4 looks great, TSH is eh, but T3 looks low.

Bingo. You need T3 added to your meds. Fast, too, lol. T3 is very quick. You will feel it the same day, and a week will mean a world of difference.

Ahhhhhhhhh... *sigh of relief*

I'm glad it's not just in my head!

2 weeks until I can see the doctor.

Oh, and low T3 depletes a bunch of brain chemicals, too, like serotonin and dopamine. Vitamin D3, tyrosine and 5-HTP are the precursors. Taking those may help. Do not take only tyrosine or only 5-HTP, however. Supplementing one only risks depleting the other further.

If you fax these results, will your doc write you a script? Like as in today or tomorrow?

Hmmm... I don't know. I could call his office I suppose. If I were to switch to Armour, what strength should I get?

Hmm, in your case, I couldn't say. Typical 'optimum' doses range from 1.5 to 2.0 grains, or 90-120 mcg. Patients are usually started on a smaller dose and worked upwards in 2 week to 30 day increments. Cytomel is the synthetic T3, so your doc might just add Cytomel.

Maybe I'll ask for a T3 synthetic supplement for now and then switch to Armour after my office visit.

That could certainly work. I just hate to see you wait two weeks if you don't have to. Low T3/not converting is my bugaboo too, so I know eggs-fricken-zactly how it feels.
