Talking Committed

I hate to bother everyone with introductions, but that is the only way to get to know a newbie. So, here goes.
My name is BillieGail and I live in East Texas. I am a wife to Bobby, Mom to three great young men; Marshall, Otis, and Cheyenne. I am also a full time nursing student (still taking basics, I don't know anything yet)
I have always been little, until I started getting ill in or around the late 90's. I now weigh 180 and I have been on the induction phase of Atkins for 4 days. I have lost around 5 pounds, putting me at 175 today. I would like to lose 55 pounds total.

I am sick of being overweight and I am really committed to this life style change. I tried it once before (beginning of last year for about 4 months) and I lost 5 pounds in the first week and then never lost another pound. I pray that I will go through that again. It was so fustrating.

I'll be keeping you in my prayers and I hope that you will pray for my success as well.

God bless you all.

Thumbs up Thanks

Thanks very much for the warm welcome. I have been doing a lot of reading on this site and I am very lucky to have come across this place. I can tell there is something for everyone here and success is not just part of the big picture, but the everyday goings on around here. I feel like I am ready for this challenge and life style change and I have a feeling that I have found the support post that I will need during my times of despair and moments of doubt.

God bless you all and Thanks again.

Hello there! I started low-carbing on Jan. 10th as well. It sounds like we have something in common. Tired of being overweight and doing something about it! I've tried Atkins as well about 1 year ago loss 9lbs and got bored with the menu I was'nt creative enough. I'm very determined this time and bored or not I will get to my goal. I have 35 lbs to lose. Lost 7.5 so far (Week 1). I'm doing Lean for Life though which is another low carb diet with the flip of watching fat and calories along with carb. I just felt that maybe I'm one of those 1 in a million cases that has to watch all 3 (cal., carb and fat)...I'm willing to make adjustments as I go along to keep losing. send me a not anytime.

Hello Puddypark! How did you guys fair with the snow yesterday?
Anyway just wanted to say hello. I'm trying not to think about food right now so the site save's me from hanging out at the frig (more out of boredom then hunger)...

My 10th day on the plan today. Holding at 8.5lb loss so far. I think I should not weight myself everyday. It's very stressful.
