Question Is Soy, Soya?

Hi,

I am a bit confused by the difference in Soy flour and Soya Flour. Is there any difference?

Also I am in the UK and wondering where I can buy Soy Protien Isolate. I live on a remote island so I think that I will have to buy it over the internet. But I asked my local health food rep and they haven't heard of it. Is it called something different here?

Thanks for the help.
Kirst

Yes I'm pretty sure soy is soya. I believe in the US it is called soy where as in europe its soya.

as for the soy protein isolate I dont really know. I would say GNC but I dunno if they have them in the UK. But in general I would imagine any store similar to it.

Hi Kirst,

I got my soy protein from here:

http://www.worldwideshoppingmall.co...otein-amino.asp

It's pretty soy tasting, so I mix it with whey protein isolate:

http://www.worldwideshoppingmall.co...uctref=lfwpi-1n

( I mix about 350 ml water, two spoons of whey and two spoons of soy, some cocoa powder and cinnamon, this makes a tasty shake)

They delivery quite fast, and on top of it, the delivery is free.

They have atkins bars and vitamins too, i find this to be quite a handy site.

Thank you both for your help. I sort of thought they would be the same - but it hurts the scales if you don't check!!
I will definately check out those websites Gagalina.
Thanks again
Kirst

You can buy soya protein isolate at any branch of Holland and Barretts. Soy and soya are the same thing.
If you are in the UK why not fill in your location on your profile. It helps to give people country specific help.
