Default Desperately Seeking Konnyaku Noodles

Hi, I was wondering if anyone knows where I can buy Konnyaku noodles in Melbourne. If your suggestion is Chinatown, could you please suggest a specific store and street. Thanks a million!

Rebecca

Thanks for your post. I do know what they are, but I was just wondering if anyone knew which shops sold them in Chinatown (Melbourne, Aust).

Hi, i'm in Sydney and don't know about these (although it sounds interesting and I've never heard of them before today.)

BTW I did buy a couple bags of these a few weeks ago:

and find them quite good considering how relatively low carb they are.

rebecca, there is an asian shop at the vic markets that sells them. the are on therry st just near the mcdonalds. you might need to ask them to showyou where the noodles are, they are cusually called shirataki noodles and are used for sukiyaki.

Sorry to be posting another message so soon, but I was wondering does anybody know the fat content per 100 grams for barramundi (fish)? Thanks.

1.5g. It's a very low fat fish.

Here's where I found the info.

Thanks Rosebud. I checked out that site but barramundi seems quite oily and I'm not sure the figures are accurate; I know the content varies per season. What do you think?

seeing as fat is an important part of the low carb diet and fish is good for you, i think it is ideal.

I agree with Sam. You should be actively seeking oily types of fish, or at least cooking in plenty of fat.
Fat is now your main source of fuel. No need to be afraid of eating fat.

Default Peanut flour and Liquid egg whites

Hi, does anyone know where I can find defatted peanut flour? I've switched from Atkins to Protein Power. The flour is high in protein and low in fat. i was also wondering if anybody has found liquid egg whites? Apparently, Coles used to sell it, but unfortunately they no longer do. Also I found Hi-Lo cereal at Coles if anybody is interested. It has 5 net carbs per serve (40 grams) and is delicious. I think they import it from the States.

If you set up a new thread for your questions rather than tack onto one that has been finalised you may get a better response.

Do you have any particular reason why you seem to be searching out low fat low cholesterol (?) foods?

Cheers,

Malcolm
