Default NY Style Ricotta Cheesecake

I made this this weekend for some friends of mine who are not LCing. They didn't have the slightest idea that they were eating LC until I told them! It is very good and tastes similar to Cheesecake from Maggiano's.

I got the recipe from Low Carb and Lovin it.

http://www.foodnetwork.com/food/rec...6_27072,00.html

Tastes exactly like cheesecake and it is a good crustless alternative for those who do not want to add nuts, etc to their diet

I recommend this to everyone! Enjoy!

Thumbs up Any QUICK desserts ideas?

Hi everyone! So, I am trying to hunt down idessert ideas/recipes that are quick. I get home from the gym or work....and sometimes want something quick. I only have one recipe:

A few teaspoons of ricotta cheese....and I sprinkle cinnamon on it..and viola! I dont know what the heck it is...but it tastes good. Takes 2 minutes--literally.

Anyone have ideas like this? I like quick recipes...and am looking for something that doesn't take more then 10 minutes until I can devour it!! ;-)

Talking HELP - its in the oven right now

I am trying this recipe and it looks soooo good - its in the oven right now. What I was wondering, when you leave the cheesecake in the oven for the extra 3 hours (with the oven off) - do you keep it in the bath or remove it from the water? It really doesn't say.
THANKS.

Sorry!

I kept it in the water bath, it helps it stay moist.

Let me know what you think! I absolutely loved it and can't wait to make it again for my b-day!

Default fabulous ricotta cheesecake

this was incredible. my mom said she's been searching for cheesecake like this for years. it's worth the effort and I made it in a regular loaf pan rather than the springform.

you will lick your lips, fingers AND the plate

Thumbs up

I just bought George Stella's cookbook with this recipe in it. I wondered about it as I'm not crazy about ricotta cheese. What is the texture like? Is it creamy? Or grainy sorta like the ricotta? Can you even tell there's ricotta in it?

Hi there.

i used a handblender to further refine the texture of the ricotta per the recipe and after baking it's fairly smooth--smoother than other ricotta cheesecakes i've gotten here in new york--but you can taste the ricotta.

if it's a texture thing you're probably fine. if it's a taste thing, i'd try another recipe.

best of luck.

Thanks Burger! I like the flavor of ricotta cheese, but can't stand the graininess, so I may try it.

This is a very smooth cheesecake..but just make sure that you process the ricotta like he mentions it. It is very good!
