Hi Folks

I'm busy packing as I leave about midnight Toronto time on Sunday. Looking forward to seeing you all on Sunday 3 October at the Fish House.

I've no difficulty with a set menu, everyone else seems to speak highly of it. I'll be looking for suggestions of where to eat on the Monday night as well, so bring your recommendations with you.

I suspect this thread might grow a bit in the next fornight whilst I'm in transit. I'll try and log on before then, but if not will get Mischa to check for me when I see her on Friday and Saturday. As you know I'm staying at the Downtown Sandman, so need to know the best way to get to Stanley Park from there. Looks like a straight road, but don't know how long it is or where the restaurant is in the park.

I've got Nicole's and Theresa's contact details so will probably be in touch during my trip, if not before on the Friday/Saturday when I'm in Victoria.

Getting really excited about my trip. Hope I don't forget to pack anything major. Probably does not matter anyway.

The set menu idea is A-OK with me, Karen, as long as you don't end up making up the difference cost-wise or doing a lot of extra work to host us! That wouldn't be fair at all!

Wanda has been experimenting with duck confit, so that may be one of the starters along with something more plain. As for the rest, the usual fish or meat..maybe pumpkin cheesecake with caramel sauce for dessert?
