Default Dirty Dozen: Before LC, which food do you think most led to being overweight?

I think Honey Nut Cheerios was a major factor for me. We purchased large boxes at a wholesale club and ate it many mornings. I wish we had discovered Dr. Atkin's book so much sooner...

Hmmm lemme think:

Wheat Bread - eating it every day for lunch, snack, binge eating,etc...
Pepperoni Pizza-every thursday ~ school
Subway Subs-every tuesday ~ school
Biscuits - eating it with just about every meal
Juicy Juice- drinking it every day for at least the first five years of my life!!!!!!
Spaghetti - eating it every couple of weeks for dinner
etc.... so on and so forth. But that's all in the past! I'm extremely happy and motivated to be low carbing

I used to bake my own bread. No bread machine either - the whole deal. It was really good, too.

Made my own cinnabons with it.

Good times.

Sigh.

Hmmm.....my choice isn't on the list.

FRIED FOODS.....I'm talking anything fried.....

okra, french fries, cheese sticks, mushrooms, zucchini, cauliflower, onion rings, eggplant, hush puppies, jalapeno poppers, catfish (the only way I will eat it), KFC Extra Crispy Chicken, Homemade nacho chips, flautas and taquitos, shrimp baskets, clam strips......

I could go on forever.....

I looked for an 'All of the above' option. There was none. That was my downfall. I am a true carb addict.

Pepsi! I drank more calories in Pepsi than I often eat in an entire day now. Runner up goes to B&J ice cream.

7-11 SLURPEES !!! They contain 150g of HFCS in EACH Slurpee. I actually did the Calorie Math and assuming that Calories In - Calories Out = Weight Change, if I had simply NEVER started drinking them [assuming I didn't replace them with something else instead,] I would not have become Obese again*.

*Note on that word "Again." In 1996, I reached a weight which qualified as Obese for less than a week before I went on my first Lowfat [No Red Meat, No Soda, Lots of Fruits and Grains, Limited Amounts of Fish and/or Skinless Chicken] Diet. I lost 22 pounds on that diet, but was always craving a Steak. In fact, that is what ended the Diet. I was starving so bad for a Steak that I ordered a 16 ounce Ribeye. Figuring I'd blown it anyways, I went with the Fries and a Large Coke too. I didn't really crave the Coke after having not had a drop for 6 months, but since I'd already blown the diet in my mind...

Interestingly enough, one other reason I'd been advised not to drink Cola was because the doctor believed the Caffeine was contributing to my Gastric Problems. I've found since LCing that HFCS, not the Caffeine is what causes the problems.

Tortinni's pizzas cooked in the microwave then rolled up and munched. Donut mornings with chocolate milk (those were rare though) and treating myself to occasional gormet treats. Also being a poor single mother buying what was cheap and easy.

Coca-Cola, without question. I loved that stuff and drank gallons of it during my low fat vegetarian days.

At the beginning of Atkins I always thought it was the bread, pasta, rice and beans. Since I have been in maint. I have added most of that back long ago with no problem. Looking back I really think my problem was juice and beer. I would constantly skip meals and fill myself with juice or beer. I think I just had some really horrible eating habits.
