my workout for thursday

Shoulders:
Military Press: 5x8x20lbs

Side Lat Raises: 3x10x15lbs

Biceps:
Concentration curls: 3x9x15lbs

21s: 3 sets 25lbs

Cable Curls: 3x8x40

Triceps:
Cable Press down w/ small V-Bar: 3x8x85lbs

Cable Press down w/ rope: 2x8x65lbs, 1x6x80lbs

Tricep dips off bench: 3x10 body weight

UGH! After I finished my last set of press downs w/ sm. V-bar I went to fill up my water bottle. My old trainer was at the other end of the gym and motioned to me that I needed to lower the weight. I struggled on the last two - he acted like I didn't know what I was doing. Aren't the last couple of reps supposed to be tough? Aren't we going for failure??? I completed each rep but the last 2 were tough. UGH!! He pisses me off. And On Wed. he told me he wants to set up another program for me. I was interested then, but after Thurs. workout, I DON'T THINK SO!!!

Friday morning:
Went to Taebo - 1 hr of TOTAL BUTT KICKING!!!!

Hey Lift! I will. I think he's just jealous that I'm doing a program someone created for me. I'm thinking he still wants to go out with me. (He asked me out last year) But now all I want to do is laugh every time I look at him b/c he dyed his hair a yellow blonde and it looks ridiculous. He looked ok with his light brown hair. He's weird anyway.

Well, I went to the Ballys near me. Yep! On a Friday night ~ 8PM! And ya know what! It was CROWDED. I thought I was the only one w/o a life!!!

I need to go there more often. The gym at work has all the basic machines and a nice free weight area, but I forgot how REAL gyms have ALL THE GOOD STUFF!!! Tonight was all machines - I was a LEAN MEAN MUSCLE BUILDING MACHINE!!!!!

Legs:
Buttblaster: 3x8xdunno how much weight - it was on the 6th plate

Inner thigh: 3x10x80

Outer Thigh: 3x8x80

Seated Leg Curl: 3x8x45 per leg

Leg Extension: 3x8x40 per leg

Seated Angled Leg Press: NEVER SEEN THIS ONE! 3x8x65lbs I wonder what's gonna hurt tomorrow

Back & ABS
Seated Back Ext: 4x8x140

Ab machine: 4x10x60

I think overall I had a good workout day. Taebo in the morning and nice workout in the PM. I should sleep well tonight!

Sweet Dreams Everyone!

BUMMER! I figured my legs would be sore today. They just feel a little tired.
Oh Well!

Cardio - 30 minute run, started to run HIIT, but my asthma couldn't take it. So just a slow run.

Workout for Aug. 9

Well, I really was in the mood to work legs. When I walked into the gym I saw that the Smith machine was free - Yippee!!! well, after I changed I saw it was being used by this guy working his chest. No biggie, i figured, I can do something else while he finishes. BOY WAS I TOTALLY WRONG! I got on the leg ext, guy was still using the Smith, then I got on the leg curl and did my sets. Got up to get water. FREAKIN guy was still using the Smith machine. I really wanted to use the Smith machine today!!!!!! What the Freakin guys deal was, he must've done like 10 sets of chest press. I noticed after every set he got up and walked over to the wate fountain to get water, then he went back and sat there for a few minutes, then started again!!! He wasn't finished w/ his sets until I was almost done with my 3RD exercise. UGH!! OMIGOD!! I was so pissed off!!!! If he was working legs, I would've asked to work in, but since he had the incline bench there, I figured it was too much trouble to ask to work in. AAAHH!!! So, needless to say, I think I overworked my legs a bit. Because of him.

Leg Ext. - 3x8x70lbs

Leg curls 3x8x55lbs

Deadlifts - 3x9x50lbs

Seated Leg Press - 3x7x190lbs

Seated Calf Raises - 3x9x50lbs

various ab work

stretched immensely - made sure I did Built's magical hamstring stretch - felt good!!!!

PM - 20 minute run to my 80s music - "Ice Ice Baby, too cold, too cold......." ok, so that's like 1990, but good to run to.

Hey there - you mentioned your shoulders looked narrower.

I'm gonna throw something out there at ya - consider switching to Arnies from Military press. The front head of the delt gets hit with chest work anyway, but Arnies work all heads. You might consider doing some rear-delt and trap work to bring your shoulders back - wider shoulders make your waist appear narrower.

Some options here: bent-over rear-delt rows, face-pulls, incline prone (face down) rear delt lateral raises.

I don't work the front heads of my delts at all anymore - I'm finding they look better and squarer now that I'm concentrating on the rear-delt/trap work.

My .02.

Looks like the workouts are coming along really nicely! And I'm glad you're liking the hamstring stretch!

What do you like to use Smith for? We don't actually have one at my gym.
