Default Italian Bake

I recently came across this recipe and adapted it as follows:

Italian Bake
Makes 6 servings
ecc 5g carbs per serving

1 lb / 500g minced (ground) beef
6 slices bacon, chopped
1 small onion, finely chopped
4 oz / 110g green pepper, finely chopped
½ a cauliflower, grated
400g can chopped tomatoes, pureed in a blender
½ tsp black pepper
2 tsp Italian Seasoning
½ tsp garlic powder
3 oz / 75g grated cheddar cheese
3 oz / 75g grated mozzarella cheese

In a large frying pan, brown the mince, bacon, onion and green pepper. Drain the fat, and then add all the remaining ingredients, except the cheese. Mix thoroughly. Cover and simmer about 30 minutes.

Transfer to a large oven-proof dish and top with the cheese. Bake for about 10-15 minutes, in a preheated oven (350°F/180°C/Gas 4) until the cheese is brown and bubbling.

I serve mine with french green beans, sauteed in butter - see attached pic

Demi,

That looks good, almost like Shepard's Pie. Think I may have to try it.
