Kristy,
Your weight loss is PHENOMINAL and just the kind I am hoping for.

Particularly you never seemed to run into a stall during your first 6 months. I have a deadline of end July and am hoping to do as well.

I wonder if you care to share your exercise plan that you did during that time (ie, 1st 6 months) and how you think you managed to avoid a stall.

I had a look at your chart profile and I see you did both the CAD and the ATKINS,
Maybe you could let me know how that worked together.

What portion of the time you adhered to what stage. IE, induction for how long, OWL, etc.

Also, if you ever endulged in any frankenfoods at all.

Basically any tips you feel were major indications or help to you in your sucess.

I am sorry that this is so many questions, but I have NO support being here in Europe and thought you might be amiable to answer me.

Thank you for your time.
Sincerely
Melissa

Melissa...I did CAD several years ago and lost some weight and gained it all back. I have been doing ONLY Atkins for the last 8 months since I began this journey. CAD didn't work for me because I binged on carbs during the reward meal so badly! It also caused me to have gall bladder problems, so I quit doing it because of that, too. Atkins has worked FAR better for me...period!

I am still doing Induction...under 20 g. of carbs per day. I do eat LC chocolate, though, and I've added nuts and LC peanut butter now...still losing well even with those additions. I plan to move to OWL once I'm about 5 pounds from goal OR when I'm at goal weight.

As for exercise, I didn't work out at all until I had been on Atkins for a month and a half. I then began walking. I walked on a treadmill and outside for 3 miles per day (average) 6-7 days per week. I did no weights at that time...only walking. I added workout videos like Kathy Smith and the Walk Away the Pounds series, which I LOVE, which incorporates some weights and resistance bands. Those have really reshaped my body and made a huge difference. Now, I have also added running into my exercise routine, although not much. I still primarily do the Walk Away the Pounds series. SO, for the first 6 months, to backtrack, I only walked and did the WATP videos.

I am lucky in that I have never had a true "stall". I have lost every week except one during the entire 8 months on Atkins. I ate bars and shakes occasionally during this journey and some LC chocolate and still was able to lose. The meal bars tend to cause me to lose slower, however.
