I thought alot about this one when I started this WOE. Home or Public Gym, how long, when would I fit it in? I second alot of people here that say "ya just fit it in." which is very true for me. I've got a 4yr old and a 2yr old. The YMCA here offers daycare while I work out. So I get to work out hard while they play with other kids and different toys than they have at home. My daughter asks quite a few questions about exercise and why I go there. It's really opened up a big discussion that I'm happy to share with her. I want healthy active children and I am going to be a good model of that. I don't want couch potatoe kids, no one does! So I'm not going to be one either. And I used to feel guilty, but now I don't.... I spend alot of time with my kids (they're my life!) but 1 hour away from them each day isn't going to make them think I don't love them, just that mommy needs to take care of mommy sometimes. Don't feel bad about being away from your kids to exercise. You're doing somethign wonderful for your body, and improving your life. And if your children are old enough, talk to them about the changes in your life and be honest. That's the best thing you can do for you and your family... *hops down cheerily from her soap box*

To sneak in exercise, I do any of my in-town errands on foot. My little guy either rides in the stroller or in his frame backpack (but he's getting really heavy for that). When it's warmer, I have a bike trailer for my 2 yo, and my 9 yo rides too.

I also have a treadmill and a trainer to ride my bike in the house. I lift weights at night before bed.

It's true about fitting it in, you must force yourself to make some time. In my case, I saved up and bought the equipment I do have to make working out at home do-able. I just don't have the discipline or the time/$ to actually go away to a gym (and the nearest one is 20 mins away).
