Thanks for the info, I go to Watertown now and then, and I have never brought back food. So, now I think I will, I've been wanting to try the Atkins breakfast bars.

PRice Club has a box of 15 Low Carb Crunch bars GeniSoy (peanut butter, chocolate and chocolate chip) 20$ for 15 vs. 30$ for 15 of the ATkins bars.

They are better then the Atkins bars im my opinion and 10$ cheaper per box!

I tried out the Genisoy Crunch yesterday, and they are pretty good. However, just the one I tried triggered some heavy duty sugar cravings. I'm pretty sure that most of that was emotional vs physical, but just a heads up.

I can't use bars during OWL as the glycerine stalls me. I wonder how these will make out.

I also tried the sugar free Reese Peanut Butter Cups I got in the states. They taste exactly like the real thing so I hope these hit Canada sometime soon.

I can't deal with the Reese SF, they upset my stomach. I am addicted to pure delight bars, you can find them at Kardish in Bank St. They are so good.

I buy Chapmans Sugar Free at Loblaws, I think the size is 1 litre and it's 3.99.
It works out to about 5-8 grams of carbs per half cup, depending on the flavour.
I've tried the cookies and cream, it is amazing!!! They also have neopolitan, vanilla, chocolate and maple something....
Anyway it's great ice cream.

For sure it's sugar free? Not "No Sugar Added" I know about the no sugar added but never seen Sugar free.

http://www.chapmans.ca/cgi/products...wframes&pline=4

I just checked their site and there is only No Sugar Added.

I stand corrected, it is no sugar added, not sugar free. Still low carb none the less. Oops about the sugar free. Thanks jeepclub.

Default low carb bread in Ottawa

Hi all:
I have now tried the Atkins low carb bagels (at Loblaws) and the Farm Boy low carb bread. I'm happy to announce that I can now have my bread and eat it too .... in moderation, of course.
I found the Atkins bagels not like bagels at all, but rather like a french brioche... which I happen to like. They are very expensive ($1 each) but half a bagel in the morning does the trick.
The Farm Boy bread is wonderful.... it tastes like bread and is not outrageous expensive. They have two different types: a low carb multi-grain, and a low carb multi-grain "everything" (with sun-dried tomato). They sell it in 3 different forms: bagette, buns ($.59) and round bread loaves ($3.99). Total carbs are 9.7 (dietary fibre 2.3, sugars 1.5) for 50 grams of bread.... two slices or one bun. Given the uneven shape of the breads though, you might have to weigh the slices to make sure you have a good idea of what 50 grams actually is in terms of quantity so that you can keep a handle on your carb intake. I'm going to try making some bread crumbs with it --- it's got to be better than the keto crumbs!
Regards

I too have just tried the Farmboy low carb bread - I got the "everything" version - a very flavorful bread - something you might eat with dinner or for sandwich, not a morning bread...it was pretty good - but I agree you should weigh it as the larger middle pieces were 45 grams for 1 slice!

I also just found the Atkins bagels at my local Loblaws (yes I was the strange woman standing with tears of joy running down my face in front of the frozen bread/dessert area).......I got a package of the cinammon raisin ones - have not tried them yet - but it is so nice to be able to find this kind of variety here.

Want to get the multigrain bread from Farmboy next.

Also health food store at Westgate told me they were getting low carb tortillas in sometime in February - not the La Tortilla ones - but Genosoy? Will have to check out carb count and cost for comparison purposes!
