Default How to START A JOURNAL

Since this is a very frequent question, here are the steps to start a journal:

Go to the forum Home Page by clicking on the "Home" icon" or any of the other shortcuts to get there (menu bar, main logo, category bar)

Scroll down to the "My Journal / Bootcamp" section.

To start a new journal, click on the "New Thread" button, write your first entry and a title, and click "Submit".

To add entries to your journal and respond to others in their journals, click the "New Reply" button.

Linking to your journal: A link will be added automatically when you start your journal in the Journals area. The links will appear on your Profile page, under each of your posts and at the top of every forum page. To find your journal, click on the link, and it will take you to the most recent messages.

Hi Shabrianna, welcome!

Once you go to the journals area, you'll see this announcement that should help:
http://forum.lowcarber.org/announcement.php?f=36

It may also help to read others' journals. You just click on the at the bottom of anyone's post to be taken to their journal. Some folk like to keep track of their meals, while others prefer to record their thoughts and feelings about their low carb journey. Journals are also a good way to make friends, by dropping in to someone else's journal to encourage them.

HTH

Yes, whenever you want to make a new post in your journal you click on the button. Just as you would when you want to post an answer in any other thread.

Hi,
When I made my first post in my journal, I put something in the "post subject area" and it became my journal name....I didn't know it was gonna do that, so I edited the subject in the post. It wouldn't change the name of my journal though. How do I do that?
Thanks!

Hiya Zymi,

I've changed it for you.

For anyone else reading this who wishes to change the name of their journal, you can either start a thread in the Comments Box and Technical Questions forum, stating the new journal name you'd like, or click on "report post" in your journal.
Or you can always flag down a passing moderator. We are happy to help.

I want to start a journal, but I am not sure I'll have time to keep up with it. How often do most of you post?

That's entirely up to you, sweetie.

Good thing about having a journal is that you can be reached in *one* place, your own "home" so to speak.

hugs,

Default starting a journal?

I have read the instructions on starting a journal:

"Go to the forum Home Page by clicking on the "Home" icon" or any of the other shortcuts to get there (menu bar, main logo, category bar)

Scroll down to the "My Journal / Bootcamp" section."

I do not see this anywhere on the page.............

When I click on Home Page I go to an Atkins site.

thx

Salmon Lady
