Default chicken and sausage meld

This is an easy one-pan main dish that both low-carbers and others can enjoy.

1 bag (about 3 pounds) frozen boneless, skinless chicken thighs
6 hot and spicy sausages such as Farmer John's Louisiana style
2 large onions, sliced
3 tablespoons dried basil
1 tablespoon garlic powder
salt and pepper to taste

Slice and saute sausage over medium heat in a large skillet. Remove all but a few tablespoons of fat. Add other ingredients. If your sausage was not spicy, add a teaspoon of cayenne pepper. Stir, cover and simmer on low heat for about 1 1/2 hour. The only carbs are in the onions and the blend makes a very tasty sauce.

Serve with green beans for the low-carbers and add brown rice or pasta for other guests.

enjoy!!
