Cool

Sharon, sorry for my delay in replying to your recipe question.

It was just an after thought to add more discussions to the get to-gether.

If we each bring one or more printed recipes of our LC favourite foods, it might prove beneficial to some of us that are novices in the kitchen.
As we are meeting at a restaurant, I don't think that they would appreciate bringing our own food; but it might be a great idea if we a had a picnic later, similar to the one that the Vancouverites are having. Sorry, I guess it is a BBQ..

We can discuss this and other ideas for the future at the luncheon on Sunday.

Why do I keep calling the noon meal a luncheon and Doreen calls it a dinner. Which is right?

Regards
Joe

Hi Doreen, put me down for 2 for the 1:00ish luncheon/dinner on Sunday!!

Jomil, I think that it depends where you were raised in the country or the city or what part of the country....whether your say dinner, lunch or supper.

I'm a born country gal and we always said dinner (12:00ish)...and supper for the evening meal. Now that I live in the City so to speak....it's "lunch hour" for us working folks (not that farmers didn't work...for some reason....they wanted "dinner" at noon time, country folks wouldn't have just a "lunch"!!!... At least this is my take on the meal thing!! I might be totally "out to lunch" here though!!!

See you on Sunday...

Smile .... looks like 7 so far ...

Well, I'll make reservations on Wednesday or Thursday -- perhaps a few more folks will let us know if they can join us by then. I will ask for a couple extra seats .. it's easier to remove a place setting than to squeeze in an extra chair. Unless folks have a better suggestion?

Joe, about lunch vs. dinner ... I think I've only referred to this as a get-together .. .. Truthfully, when I first posted the poll to see if there was interest ... I was imagining an evening meal ... and had planned to drive to Toronto Sunday morning, and stay over until Monday. With it being earlier in the day now ... I've changed my itinerary, and will be driving up Saturday instead. It works out well, and I should be back home in time to feed my kitties Sunday night.

OK, so far we have : jomil, Sharon & spouse, sylvie p & spouse, debbie & ? (will dave be joining us?) ... and yours truly.

Actually ... I like the idea of each member bringing a favourite lowcarb recipe, one that hasn't been posted. We can put them all together into an Ontario Special Recipe Collection, which can be posted in our Lowcarb Kitchen, or better yet on the Members' Recipe Webpage! Heck, let's do both!!! ..

What do you all think about that??

Looking forward to LUNCH on Sunday (not looking forward to driving in heavy transport traffic Saturday though) ...

Doreen

Doreen, it sounds like everything is 'ago-go' for Sunday.

I would have thought you could come down on Sunday morning to eliminate the Saturday truck traffic.

Regards
Joe

doreen, dave won't be attending our lunch! i'm still going to try to talk him into it, but i think he'll probably still say no. it's a good chance for him to go visit his mom.

Exclamation the deed is done

Reservations made for Sunday, 1 p.m. --- Greek Odyssey restaurant in the garden patio, if the weather's nice - or indoors, upper level if it's raining (the upper level is an open area, overlooking the whole dining room ). Non-smoking. Name:"Low-carb Group"

I've reserved for 8 people (we have 7 confirmed) ... we can phone the restaurant up to 11 a.m. Sunday if more people decide at the last minute to join us

If you've misplaced the address and map, click here.

Smile debbie, you wear whatever you like

I gather this restauarant is informal ... especially if we're going to be outside. I'll be wearing something ugly but comfortable ...

Oh, and don't forget to bring an original lowcarb recipe for sharing!!
