Default Low-carb restaurants?

Is there such a thing?

It would be so much easier if there were.

Ah, I guess frequent steak houses often and just have the meat entree without the potato et al? LOL

Wow, Frederick, you're one pound away from your target weight!

Congratulations.

What happens when you reach that target? Are you making any changes to your diet?

Default My dream...

I've always wished that I could go into a restaurant and order the "Atkins Special". I steak and salad or some fabulous low carb treat. It could still happen.

Seriously, I think restaurants meals are so high carb because they need to stretch their dollar. Lots of grains or sugars don't go rotten like meat or veggies and if mixed with healthy food, can make that protein go a little further. It fills up the plate and you for less money.

Peace,

Jen

There is a low carb resturant in New Jersey and I know there is one also in California. Not sure of the names but heard about them.

Not gonna make any drastic changes, but pretty much will proceed as I have the past several weeks.

I've been keeping my carbs at or around 80 - 100, which has worked for me. Recently, I've become much more laxed about what constitutes my carb allowance for a given day. For me, those draconian avoid all sugar/sweet days are hopefully just fading memories.

Default I had actually been thinking.....

That it would be a great business venture to open a Low Carb restaurant. Don't get me wrong, it's not something I could ever do myself, but I would love to be in on it. I think it would really be neat to have someplace people could go and have the carb counts right on the menu with the prices... LOL.

Well, Frederick...

You should post an announcement the day you reach 158.

And rishamoon,

I think a low-carb restaurant would make good business sense. Imagine having a nationwide chain! Wouldn't it be great if when they ring you up, your carb count would be printed right on your receipt?

I read at another site that if you ask, Carl's Jr. will wrap your burger in a huge lettuce wrap. Not a bad thing for a 'burger joint!' Perhaps this is a good start!

Thumbs up

In' N' Out will also wrap your burger in lettuce leaves. Just ask for your burger "protein style".

My fave restaurant to go to is Outback Steakhouse. Lots of choices there. But I agree... a restaurant devoted to low carb would be awesome!!!

Go to a restaurant like outback, order a steak, their steamed veggies (don't eat the carrots) and have a caesar salad. Tell them not to bother bringing out the bread and you are good to go!!! That's what I do. Almost anywhere you go really you can low carb it. Even Mexican. Order the fajitas, no beans, rice, or tortillas, eat it right off the skillet. The only place you really have to watch out is Italian and Chinese. I haven't exactly found the right foods there.

I consider red lobster to be a decent restaraunt.. We went there last week and I was totally able to stay within my carb limit, no problem =)

but a low carb restaraunt chain would be AWESOME

See I am the opposite. I hate seafood (feel about seafood the way vegetarians feel about meat). The only thing they have there for me to eat is the chicken fingers they offer as an appetizer and they are breaded. I could always eat a caesar salad, but that is small and the cheese biscuits are totally unavoidable in my opinion.

A bloomin onion is completely unavoidable at Outback.

Therefore I cannot go.
