Hubby just had an interview that could have us moving to the Yakima area this coming May, help?!

I am from NYC and have only recently begun to "get used" to the suburbs (been living in MD for a couple years for dh's job) so this is going to be quite an adjustment. (assuming it happens, but it looks likely) So, what is the town like? How rural is it outside of town? What am I looking at in terms of the little kids and libraries, etc? Grocers? Health food stores? Local farms?
