Aaand I'm back! Past time too, since the broken toe healed weeks ago. My only excuse is the wretched heat, which I know is making you all groan, since you are suffering through record cold temps. Sorry?

Glad to see you back Roz. It is very cold here but very hot is no fun either.

Nice to see you again, Roz. We are getting Vermont's warm winter weather down here - which is still darn cold for Virginia. I was walking in the teens last night and single digits are expected over the next two nights (with snow likely tonight). It will probably be very busy, but I'm thinking it smart to head to the neighborhood gym this week.

It's all what you're used to Ken or what you get used to. I've been walking during the day with the sun shining and temperatures in the single digits. Yesterday afternoon it made it up to the mid teens and it felt like a heat wave and today's 20's will be downright balmy. Here's the weather forecast for the next 2 days:

Quote:
snow expected. Dangerously cold wind chills possible.
Plan on slippery Road conditions, including during the morning
commute on Thursday. Total snow accumulations of 3 to 5 inches
are expected on Thursday into Thursday night. Wind chills could
range from 20 below zero to 40 below zero Thursday night
through Saturday, with the lowest readings on Friday night into
Saturday morning.

Even Vermonters will probably try to avoid this or at least I will, the cold much more than the snow. I can't speak for the other more intrepid folks around here. My 90 years old downstairs neighbor tells me that he remembers when he was in the 4th grade the temperature got to -45 degrees and that we never get weather like that any more. Either what he says is true or he is exaggerating as us old folks are prone to do . Stay warm.

Jean

You guys are making me shiver... almost. Although today is a little cooler at 29C/84.2F. I've still got the AC running though... for the cats, you understand.
