Question meat/egg fast...how long have you lasted?

What's the longest time you've stayed on the meat/egg fast? how did you feel? do you think it's safe to do it for longer than 3 days provided you supplemented properly and drank alot of water? I workout pretty intensely (kickboxing) would this fast lower my energy? I'd appreciate any input!

Thanks

The longest I lastest was 8 days. I lost a pound every day but the last two, so I figured that it was time to go back to atkins. I found that I have a lot more energy on the meat and egg fast than I do on Atkins or high carb eating.

Thanks Admo! So why did you return to Atkins if you found your energy levels to be better on the fast? I'm on my 3rd day, I feel alright, and I had a pretty intense workout yesterday. I'm thinking to make it a way of life, sort of cycling with a few days on the fast and a few with very very low carb veggies like celery and spinach etc. I'm tired of having to think about what to eat, or giving myself too much leeway in choices, at least not until I reach goal.

I go back and forth between that and atkins. I went back to atkins after the last time because I quit losing weight and I didnt want to stall. I am not back on the m/e fast and have lost two pounds in two days. I recommend it to everyone!

17 days...wow.
You have done very good but did you just have meat and eggs for those 17 days?

yes, just meat and eggs! I didn't really feel like eating after splitting with my girlfriend so I just ate meat and the odd egg. When my appetite returned, I went back to my normal 20 grams a day.

Thanks alot for your kind words Cygirl, I really appreciate it!
I'm 189 at the moment and I was 172 at my lightest. I still felt big so I've set a limit of 165.

You've also done really well, congratulations to you too!

If you should decide to go back to the gym i bet you would be fine at 170 lbs.

I also love to walk.

Good luck to you

I used to go to the gym 3 times a week when I hit 172. I still felt huge. It was probably pychological as I couldn't get used to being slimmer!

I love walking. Every lunchtime, I put on my music and walk along the river.

Good luck to you too!

I'm not Admo, but I think if you stick to the meat and eggs fast too long you might wind up with some nutritional deficiencies and severe constipation.
not fun

I didnt have constipation, but it had quit being effective. Also, I was definitely concerned about nutritional issues. I like the m/e fast, though, i feel smaller on it. As soon as I switch back to atkins, I feel like my clothes don't fit as well- water, im sure.

I'm starting to wonder though, how nutritionally deficient could it be? (thinking of the traditional all meat diet of the african masai and arctic eskimos) I've been reading posts from folks who are staunch believers that eating all meat, is all you need. Of course you'd get bored but then you can spice things up with different ways of cooking it and using different types of meat. I think what will work for me, and this will be my first week trying it, is to go strictly meat and eggs during the week and light induction on weekends. Just keep it simple. And take my multivitamins of course (just in case there is a risk of deficiency...lol).

But I'm still interested in seeing how long anyone has lasted (or should I say thrived?) on the m/e fast, has anyone adopted it as a WOE. So keep the posts coming! Thanks for your input

I really like it. I get leg cramps, though, which i have been told is a potassium issue. I also have less cravings on the m/e fast. When I switch back to reg atkins induction, I start to feel very very snacky. That is usually the time I cheat. All in all, I prefer the meat and egg fast, or stillmans, which is similar.
