No losses for me this final week, so my post last week was my best result.

Thanks to all of you for sharing this challenge. I'm seeing lots of great losses recorded. Not sure who all has posted their final weigh in for this summer yet but a huge congratulations to everybody who made progress towards their goal during this challenge

What she said. Great job everybody.

to all of you who got just *that* much closer to goal over the last many weeks. I hope you all feel healthier and more comfortable compared to last summer. We have two who actually exceeded their weightleoss goals: Rosebud and Tyranade! And many who lost a significant amount...nearly 10 lbs., and more! Congratulations to you all!

Kosmo, I am grinning thinking of your 28.2 lb. loss!! We started at a similar top weight (me:211) and I remember how much better I felt, the further I got under 200.

Bev, you've done great, too. 9 lbs. is a big difference. *thinks how great I'd feel if I'd lost 9 lbs.*

Ken, you had a lot going on the last little while...but you kept to your 18 lb. loss for this challenge. Impressive!

KellyL! 9.2 lbs...another good loss!

Let's see who else chimes in with a final post...

Since I'm not actively trying to lose right now (long story), I think I shouldn't be the one to start the next challenge...Anyone else want to? Comments? I usually love being part of a challenge, but for now (subject to change) I am enjoying practicing maintenance at around 161. Somehow I have hit a sweet spot of not gaining while not restricting myself too much. It's still too high of a weight for me...but for now...I'm ok with it.

* * EVERYONE * *

Paula: If you start it, I'll help to keep it going and encourage participation. I don't have a clue how to do the pictures and banners. You can still participate with a goal to maintain your current weight or a loss of just a few lbs.

You are right in that we started out at the same weight. I actually started a few weeks earlier at around 217. Also, we are the same height. Years ago (approx. 15 years), I got down into the low 160's and reached the high 150's. Like you, I felt good at that weight, but knew I should probably be at a lower weight. However, I feel so much better with the 30 lbs I've lost! My goal right now is to get into the 160's and then try to keep it going from there.

I ended up at 159.4. I am a little above goal, but at least I am in a new decade. All in all I am satisfied.

I am still trying to get to 155, so will gladly sign up for the next round.
Thanks GWTW

OK...I will start the next one

Thanks Kelly for the encouragement to start the next one!

Thanks, Kosmo for offering to help me keep it going! This was actually my deciding factor You are right, I could make my goal a maintenance one until I am ready to push for more loss.

Oma, glad you are in the 150's now! It's a great feeling!

Give me a little while to start the new one...should get it done tonight.

Nope. lol. Too tired. This getting up early stuff is getting me down. (j/k)

Tomorrow, tomorrow...

Question: should we go til the first day of fall? Really make these challenges seasonal? We lost a lot of participants along the way...is 12 weeks too long?

12 weeks just shows committment in my opinion. It helps in forming a habit or sustaining an old one

Agree. Keep it seasonal. There is a regular month-long daily weigh in thread already for those who want something shorter. And there is the year-long "first of the month" weigh in thread for those who want a longer term challenge. This one falls nicely between those in length.

No matter the length of the challenge, there are going to be folks who drop out along the way. Too bad we can't call up the drop-outs with a "hey, get your butt back here, don't think you can sneak away without being missed!" message. But we can't so... And, when they're really ready, I'm sure they'll try again.

I agree with the seasonal challenge. There are a lot of short term challenges out there. The 12 week one really gives you a goal that you can work towards and be successful, even if you stumble along the way. In fact, this challenge was the thing that got me serious again at the beginning of June because I wanted to get as close as I could to the goal that I set.
