Default Are these acceptable foods for the Induction Period?

I love to eat meats and cheeses, so I don't think I will have a hard time with this Atkins diet. I exercise about 4-5 times a week. Cardio and weight lifting mostly. I hope to lose 40-50 lbs. I'm fairly muscular so maybe I won't have to lose that much.

Can someone tell me if the following foods are acceptable for the Induction period???

Steak/Hamburger
slices of American Land o' Lakes cheese
High Protein bars
deli meats (turkey, hard salami, roast beef)
lot's of water
very very small salads once or twice a week
eggs
bacon

I plan to eat nothing but these foods for the first 2 weeks. Does this sound like the right thing to do. I have started reading the Atkins diet book but wanted to start before I'm done with the book.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!!

Thanks,
Brian

You're going to hear this often, Brian so be prepared. "Read the book first" Nothing else will substitute. You risk your health and wellbeing if you do not. And lots of "Read the book first" posts

I wont leave you hanging; your list has some problems with it. Protein bars are notoriously high in carbs, regardless of what the packaging says. If they list a sugar alcohol or glycerine then you're getting more than you bargained for carb wise. Besides which, "it just aint natural"

I don't see any vegetalbes on your list. There is a list in DANDR of veggies you should eat every day. Not twice a week. Every single day. 2 servings, in fact. If you do not you'll end up in a sorry state: constipation isnt fun.

So, go finish the book and read the chapter on Induction twice and for some extra help check out the section at the top of every page in orange called "Low Carb Tips"

LC works, but it must be done right.

Thanks Faith!

Alright ! Alright!! I'll read the book first! hehehehe
I just got excited about finally getting rid of this fat that I didn't want to waste another minute.

Geez, I didn't realize I could eat that many vegetables. That makes the diet even better.

Thanks again and I will post again when I finish the book. (Maybe
tonight! I'm a wicked fast reader!)

Thanks,
Brian

Nat has wonderful advice [ that girl always does..lol] Also I will add, be careful of deli meats....read labels on everything U buy. Some deli meats have sugars, cornstarch and wheat fillers in them. oh yes and in case no one mentioned....LOL read the book.

Yes, little things like that make all the difference. If you're up for it you should get your hands on a copy of "Protein Power", it's a must have for anyone following a LC WOL.
