Default "Restless Leg Syndrome"?

Hello everyone!

I was on VLC(calorie)D shakes in one week, then I switched over to Low Carbs for the next week, after I did that I have been having "aches" or small annoying pains in my thighs/hip region and I can't sleep well at night.

I read a little on the internet that it might be lack of Potassium, so I bought some lactose reduced milk, to add to my diet, I am also taking magnesium and vitamin pills to have my vitamins and minerals in place.

Currently I am getting 9-10g carbs a day, and 1 glass of lactose free milk will give me 9g carbs. So i guess it's perfect for my diet since I am required to have 20g carbs maximum a day.

We will see tonight if I keep getting pains, if not then I will be a happy lowcarber

You might also look at increasing some magnesium and salt.

Check out the salt thread. You need lots of salt to help your body retain all the other minerals.

I'm not sure why, but whenever I drink lactose free milk, the pain goes away :\

Calcium? It is also an electrolyte.

Are you taking potassium? I am unsure from your post. I have "restless leg syndrome" but have three prescriptions taken three times a day to keep mine calm. I also take potassium, magnesium, calcium, vitamins D and C. God luck-I know how miserable it is.

Thank you Laura. The pains are a real pain---, and I thought potassium was the same as calcium so I went and got lactose free milk.

Also, I am taking magnesium, zinc, all vitamins, (recently)calcium, but I will check out potassium.
