Default Almond Breeze on South Beach

Is unsweetened almond breeze allowed on any phase of South Beach? I used to drink it when I was just doing low carb. It is a great milk replacement for those of us who dont like or cant have milk or soy

Original
Ingredients: purified water, almonds, tapioca starch, calcium carbonate, sea salt, potassium citrate, carrageenan, soy lecithin, vitamin A palmitate, vitamin D2, d-alpha-tocopherol (natural vitamin E).

These are the ingredients of Almond Breeze.
Its 40 calories per 8 oz serving so not a free food.
Because it also has tapioca starch, I'd keep it to a maximum of 8 ozs a day.

Thanks for the info Judy. I will use it sparingly in my decaf coffee and maybe when I start eating oatmeal!

The nutritionists at the SBD website forum have posted this is a perfectly fine sub for soymilk or skim milk on SBD espeically for those who have a dairy intolerance or can't eat soy. The Almond Breeze is actually lower than soymilk on the Glycemic Index and the starch is minimal.. They advise the same portions as the listed dairy limit.
