Default Powdered Protein Drink Mix

I found a container of Atkins powered strawberry shake mix in the back of my cupboard not long ago. I had forgotten about it..and I also had forgotten how GOOD it was. As my luck would have it, they no longer make it ! SO...do any of you have any suggestions as to what I can use to replace it? All I really want to do is put 2 scoops of the product in a shaker, add water and ice, shake it up and be good to go. (This is usually my breakfast along with 3 strips of bacon). I don't want to add any fruit, milk, creme, etc. Basically I am looking for something palatable right out of the container.

HELP !

I used to love the ready made strawberry EAS shake- but for powder, they only have vanilla or chocolate:
http://eas.com/products/drinks/carb...trawberry-cream

I ave not tried Quest's powders, but they have strawberry- i woud gamble on them. their protein bars AMAZING! least processed and tastiest bars EVER. it is all i eat now for bars, which i find very convenient for long hikes, mountain half marathons, etc....

If you are basically having a protein shake for breakfast.

My favourite flavoured one is Extreme Nutritions Whey protein.

It actually tastes nice. I have some horrendous ones as well that I can recommend you steer well clear of but Extreme is good. The other I like is phd whey protein.

They don't have the added vitamins that the atkins ones do but then I don't worry about that as I try to eat my supplements :-)

I like Jay Robb products. 110 calories, 0 fat, 0 sugar, 1 carb, 25 gr protein. Can be shaken or blended. This time of year, I actually like to mix a scoop with 1/2 oz water, then add hot coffee.

Fair enough, but PhD is only 1gm and Extreme is 3gm per serving.

I wish there was some way to make these mixes THICK...(like a milkshake) and have them STAY thick. I have even tried blending them in a blender with a ton of ice, but they eventually get watery again !

Mix anything with full fat coconut milk...it will stay thick and be very filling.
IsoPure Zero Carb has many flavors, banana cream is good, strawberry may be worth a try.
Mark Sisson just published a very interesting summary of the benefits of whey...of course, he sells Primal Fuel, only in chocolate and vanilla.

I wonder if this will drastically increase the carb count? Right now just using water it is only at 1 carb for 7 oz.

Any ideas? I'm not very familiar with coconut milk !

An entire can of full fat coconut milk is 12-15g carbs, and over 600 calories. You won't be drinking it all at once😉 also has loads of fat, 70 g worth!, for people doing ketogenic or weight GAIN diets. But is stays thick!

There is also drinkable unsweetened almond milk and coconut milk in tetra-pak boxes on shelf, usually only 1g carb per cup and low calorie, but not as thick, a milk substitute for dairy sensitive.

I don't use protein powders often so don't know of any that stay thick with just water. I add greens, frozen fruit, and almond milk to my Isopure but drink it down as a meal with 15 minutes.
