I know I'm reeeeeeeeeeeeally grasping at straws, but I have to ask anyway.
Does anyone use, or can anyone think of how to make lc Anzac biscuits?
The standard recipe goes something like this:
Ingredients
1 cup (150g) plain flour
1 cup (90g) rolled oats
1 cup (85g) desiccated coconut
3/4 cup (155g) brown sugar
125g butter
2 tbs golden syrup
1 tsp bicarbonate of soda
1 cap vanilla essence
That makes about 24 and I don't even want to hazard a guess as to the carb count! lol...
I could do almond flour for the plain flour and some liquid sweetener for the golden syrup. Any ideas for the oats? And the rest?
I honestly don't think it's possibly, matey. The taste of the Golden Syrup and the rolled oats is a vital part of the flavour of Anzac biccies, and they just wouldn't be the same with replacements, IMHO.
Perhaps you could eat just one, and give the rest away...very quickly.
It's nowhere near Anzac Day, but I just happened to be looking through the Carb Lite website, when what did I see but a recipe for low carb Anzac Biscuits.
