About how big is an ounce of cheese?

Does anyone have a guideline or can compare it to an object in terms of width, height, etc.

If it's an 8 ounce block of cheese like you get at the store, I use the "matchbox" or "domino" visualization.

I think Dr Atkins once said an ounce of cheese was about the size of a pair of dice! Hope that helps!

And if you're talking sliced cheese, it's almost exactly one slice.

1 ounce of cheese = a one inch square if the cheese is a solid chunk or 1/4 cup shredded (not packed).

A slice of cheese is 1 oz. A cheese snack (like, string cheese, for example) is 1 oz.

Easier: look on the package, and cut it into the number of ounces listed on the package. Eyeball it. It's usually 7, 12 or 20.

Way smaller than you'd like to think it is. Unfortunately.

So true...isn't it so disappointing how small 1 oz of cheese is? I always hanker for more. There was a thread about a member eating 10 oz of cheese in one day...I have done that and could easily do it again...it isn't that much in terms of volume. I really, really have to control myself around cheese.
