Default I got careless and I sabotaged myself...

Damn. I was not paying attention to the Foods To Avoid List carefully enough.

I thought I had read and memorized the Phase I lists and kept the lists around for reference. But I got cocky.

I made a bunch of black-eyed peas, from scratch if you can believe it, and made enough for cold bean salad to feed off through the week. I'm not even a huge fan of them, but I do like them enough. Anyway, I was perusing the lists looking for some new stuff to eat and came across "black-eyed peas" on the list of foods to avoid.

I wanted to punch through a wall. I was doing so well up until I made them on Saturday, and since then I have been eating 1/3 to 1/2 cup for lunch, dinner on Sat, for snack and dinner on Sunday and snack today.

I was doing so well. I lost 8lbs, according to the scale, since I began SB 9 days ago. Now I don't even want to get on to witness the damage. I noticed this morning that the slimer-ness I had been feeling in the last week was no longer the same.

Now I know why.

But, I'm back on the SB train to 160 goal weight. This time, though, I'm a little less cocky.

---Guy

(By the way, I'm new here, found this place two weeks ago just before I started. From what I can tell, this seems like a good group of folks.)

Black-eyed peas are allowed in Phase One. You didn't sabotage yourself.

Are you sure?
I see a list of Foods To Avoid:
Vegetable:
barley
beets
black eyed peas
carrots
corn
pinto beans
sweet potatoes
white potatoes
yams

Am I looking at some kind of wrong or old list?

Yes, you are looking at the very oldest list around as its from the first book. I'll get you a link to the new lists we have right here.

Thanks for the info, Judy.

I will search the forums to see why there is a different list than earlier.

I am wondering if it is simply a more permissable list, in hopes of attracting more people. Or if there is some other reason, like better science.

In any case, I am feeling good that I am still on track. Thank you both for setting me straight.

It was better science that had them change the lists.
