Default Eye of the Tiger - Focused on Victory!

Hi Everyone,
I'm excited by what I've seen on this forum so far. This looks like an encouraging community with a strong accountability factor. Excellent!

I am a 40 year-old mother of 3 and run a landscaping company with my husband. I used to be very active and fit working on job sites. After the 3 pregnancies, I also had reconstructive knee surgeries on both knees, which contributed to my weight gain. Now I have additional health problems - hernias and a torn rotator cuff, and need to get surgery. I have been advised to lose weight prior to hernia surgery and am serious and committed to losing weight and improving my health.

I stopped sugar, flour, caffeine and alcohol on Valentines' Day (2-14-17) and am limiting artificial sweeteners. I had some withdrawal and fatigue but am now feeling better than I have in years. However, no weight loss yet, so I'm looking to further reduce carbs.

Welcome Tiger,

We started our journey around the same time. My biggest weakness is sugar and I have to go 100% cold turkey since I have no control.

Good luck with your upcoming surgeries.

Kathy

Thank you, Kathy.

I have to go 100% no sugar also. It triggers me otherwise and I'm completely off the wagon.

Still holding on and making progress. Started working out, lost an inch to two inches, but only 1 pound down so far. I'm trying to focus on the positives and health benefits without stressing over the weight loss too much!

Hope you are doing well. :-)
