Default Going Overboard

In all of my 15 months on this WOE i have never given a second thought or slightest desire for any Porkrinds but yesterday i had serious cravings for them. Went to Sams and brought 18oz x 2 barrels of Utz Pork Rinds and less than 24 hours later i am already half down on one of the 18oz and had to force myself to stop eating them. Actually hoping i get sick of them so i stop the craze.

I also been having them with cheese but i stop the cheese when i hit my 2oz limit. Amazing that i can contain myself on pretty much all my other food intake but Porkrinds lol.

Due to sodium content i am prob' going to feel it on the scale but hopefully it levels out after a few days.

Also just found a pork rind pancakes recipe so going give that one a shot on the weekend.

It would have been worse if it were 18oz of potato chips! And congratulations at stopping the cheese at 2oz, that's not easy to do when you're in full-on binge mode. Hope you're back to normal now.

Maori, I have noticed a similar thing with me. I don't seem to have any binge tendencies at all - for which I am thankful - but pork rinds do seem to require that they all be eaten within a short amount of time LOL. Oddly enough, I can measure out a portion of nuts, or cheese, or whatever, and once it is eaten I am done with that for the day. Maybe because pork rinds are "allowed" I seem to have less control. I haven't bought any in months for exactly this reason, though the idea of using them for breading does sound rather tempting.

I've never had a hard time limiting myself on the pork rinds. They just weren't that great... until I found a Chinese brand of garlic pork rinds in the ethnic foods aisle of my big grocery store. This was last summer. I started eating them as soon as I got home, and they were so freaking good, I just about polished off the whole bag. This was a large bag, too - maybe 4 oz. I thought it was just because I hadn't had any breakfast.

I bought them 3 or 4 more times, and each time, I couldn't put them down. But then I read the ingredients and noticed that they contained MSG.

Now I just stick to the old brand - just pork skin, lard and salt. Good, but not binge-triggering good.
