I'm baaaack!

I haven't been weighing or posting for the past couple of weeks and was eating low(er) carb, but started eating some of my "old favorites" that were higher in carbs. When I start eating anything that is high carb, it sets the cravings off and nothing satisfies me. I was ready to give it up, but the weather is breaking and spring is in the air and I don't want to be back to my old weight. My husband and I joined the gym this past weekend so that has helped me get back on track with my eating.

I do great during the day, but I've been having a problem with nuts in the evening. We bought a huge bag weeks ago and fortunately it is almost gone.

My goal is to stay low carb and not eat anything after my supper meal. Also, I am not eating any nuts until I can get back on track and control my eating. I weighed myself this morning and was up about 10 lbs, but I'm not going to weigh every day as I had been. I usually know what's happening by the way my clothes fit and if I stay on track with my eating and continue to exercise, I should be fine. I may try to weigh in once a week on Fridays just to be sure that what I'm doing is working. Everyone else is doing great!

Here's to MOMD #1.

Still at it...MOMD day "I don't know"

Updated my journal...the quest to figure out my kidney issue continues. I have been staying very well in the ketogenic lifestyle. The WOE suits me well, and recent readings have reassured me that a higher fat, moderate protein low carb, crap free food lifestyle is very good for your kidneys too!

So, no, "oh noes my kidneys asploded" for me...

I will need surgery probably in April, which will once again screw up my biking season, but I need to get that boulder out of my kidney....it will also force me to drop out of the 1st mountain bike race I wanted to do....

Anyway, good to see all doing well....

WONJ 10 away!

Hi all

I AM the Master of My Domain 1 day

Decided I needed to repost the reasons to lose weight. I copied these from my own post back on July 11th of 2012. Still as true today as it was then.

Top Ten Reasons to continue my weight loss...
10. My back feels a lot better when I'm lighter
9. Blood sugar goes down, as does triglycerides
8. I can do more things with ease, I don't get winded.
7. Less snoring
6. I can wear the other half of my closet (the current half is getting old and I do NOT want to buy new clothes at this weight)
5. I WANT to be MOMD
4. I can dance better
3. No longer get asked to play Santa Claus because I "need less padding"
2. I can tie my shoes in front of me instead of on the side!

...and the number 1 reason...

1. Damn I look good!

Love your list, Mike! I can relate to a lot of your reasons.

Everyone is doing so well. I can't wait until I can post double digit numbers.

MOMD day # 2

a few potato chips got in the way-- arggghChips are gone-- out of the house.

Kosmos-- good for you on adding exercise. I find nuts cn be a bugger too. IT works if they are a small ingredient of a dessert or meal or salad, but not out of hand . . because they get out of hand!
