Smile returning to Atkins

Hi Folks,

I have spent the last five years gradually gaining weight after being persuaded that Atkins was dangerous.
I was slim on the Atkins diet, and enjoying wearing lots of lovely clothes, then I was told about the dangers of high fat etc. So I tried a low fat diet, then a vegetarian diet, and now I've put on 21 pounds,
it's terrible feeling so fat.
So I am going back to my comfortable Atkins way of eating...yes, and lost 4 pounds this week! it is good to be a little less tight round the middle!

Woo Hoo, Welcome MusicCalm7 and congrats on your success so early. So glad to have you back. You will find lots of people on this forum that know well the arguments about the dangers, blah, blah, blah, heck, I live with one, but just remember, you can not chance how another person thinks or feels, and it doesn't matter anyway, because all that matters is how you think and feel.
So, you go Girl, and we are all here behind you...

Please drop by my journal sometime, I love company and I will be here to cheer you on..ttyl

Welcome, musicCalm! I had a very similar experience, gained 12 lbs. of bloat and misery on very-low-fat vegan. I couldn't stand it any more and switched to Atkins. No looking back! You're going to like it around here. Good people and good information and support.

Default feeling good

It is great to be feeling good
eggs and smoked salmon for breakfast, and the weight has stayed off!
I can't believe it...
A wardrobe full of clothes from my previous Atkins days that I might be able to wear shortly! I've been living in baggy trousers and shirts for so long.
Anything can happen
Blessings,

Ha Ha, yeah, I hear ya, nothing like a comfy old pair of sweat pants..lol. I read once that if anything can break up a marriage it is sweat pants, God, he must really love me..
But jeans don't lie, so keep trying them on, they are almost better than a scale. have a great successful day, ttyl

Good luck! I'm also on my second time doing Atkins. For me I can really tell how I FEEL healthier on this WOE. More energy, no crashes after eating, no blood sugar drops if I don't eat on schedule, etc. Fitting into old clothes is definitely a plus too! :-)
