Default Here I go again...

Well, I'm back. I was here 11 years ago and lost 80 lbs pretty fast (in like 5 months) doing low carb.

Then I got older and bad things happened and life got stressful and I fell off the wagon and nearly all of it went back on again.

So I'm starting again, 11 years old and now with moderately high blood pressure and worsened asthma.

I've been serious about this for about a month, dabbled in restarting it a few months before that, and am down 22 lbs. So I think it still works for me.

Its harder though, on many fronts. Dairy seems to really flare my asthma now so I've had to cut that out. And to be safe, because suffocating isn't much fun, I've also cut out gluten to reduce systemic inflammation.

My GI system seems way touchier than before and I seemed to have developed some weird allergic reactions to things that didn't bother me before.

So I'm down, once again, to meat, fish, fowl, eggs, vegs, some nuts, and a little low carb fruit.

I've also found I have to watch calories now too. I'm learning how to not mind being hungry.

Anyway, here I go again.

Welcome back LizardQueen,

Checking the Newbie Advice sticky may help you re-establish a good plan.#1 tip has always been, pick a plan and know the rules. You can generally know LC but the differences between SB and Eades is important. From your allergies it seems eliminating all grains (per Wheat Belly's Dr Davis, not buying GF) and dairy should be a priority. Thank goodness for coconut and almond milk products available now, much easier.

Dr Eades has 12 terrific posts on Re-Starting and the "Second Time Around" The comments following these posts are useful too.

Neither of those plan forums are currently very active, so check around the general low carb forum and other places for advice.

All the best,
