July 11: 286 (Oh crap! Where'd that come from?)
July 12: 283 (down 20 lbs since I started May 20th--yea!!!)

July 26: 279 (is my body getting ready to shed more pounds or deciding that enough is enough?)
July 27: 280 (I knew it, I just knew it--3 days without walking or much activity because of heavy rains has done me in--only 4 days left in the month to get 2 lbs off to reach my goal for this month. Yikes!)
July 28: 278!!! (well, 278.4, but whose counting? Just need to focus on not going backwards over the next few days, and will meet my 10 lbs lost in July goal)
July 29: 278 (and holding--my new lowest point, 10 lbs in July and 25 lbs total--only 2 days left in the month!)

HotHunt, thanks for the pep talk! I was a bit down yesterday but I am NOT about to give up. This WOE works and I'm sticking with it!!! I was just expressing some temporary frustration over what I'm very aware was a very very minor bounce back up... I even know what caused it. That brownie my 6 year old niece made... and I don't really even regret making her happy by enjoying her brownie.

Truly, if there were a guide to making a million bucks that was as easy and sure-fire as I've found losing weight on this WOE to be, I'd be rolling in the riches.

(Jan 1: 202)
(Feb 1: 199)
(Mar 1: 194)

7/26: 181
7/27: 181
7/28: 181
7/29: 180 Back down today AND I've been very very good and plan to stay that way! I also went for an hour-long swim this morning and am planning on going contra-dancing for a couple of hours this evening. That'll definitely burn some calories.

I Totally plan to be in the 170's next month. I had just hoped to make it by the end of THIS month. Who knows, I've still got a couple of days. I may get there yet!

~Hothunt: to change your "current weight" look at the top left corner of this or any page. In the turquoise blue bar just below the "I've got friends in low-carb places" logo, you'll see "USER CP". Click that. It takes you to your User Control Panel. Now, in the left hand column of that page, you'll see "settings and options" in a pink bar. Below that, look for "edit profile" and click that. That opens up the profile you entered when you first joined. There is a spot for current weight. Change the value then scroll to the bottom and click "save changes" and you're done.

~Gilly07 - Welcome aboard! It's never too late to join and we're glad to have you. This really is a terrific bunch of very supportive folks and posting here regularly has certainly helped me stay focused. Traditionally, we start a new thread each month. Otherwise the thing just gets too long and unwieldy. Look for the new one to be titled something like "August 2015 countdown, daily weigh-in" and to be posted on August 1.

Iceberg - STICK WITH IT. It'll start happening for you again eventually. I think I got stuck in the low 200s for about 2 months and then all of a sudden, the scales started moving again.

Finally, a huge congrats to everybody who has been sticking with their WOEs and losing weight. Sunny, Renee, Kosmo, Hothunt, Omablue, and WeezyB, and anyone I might have inadvertently overlooked...This cheers for you!!

Dearest Group, I am so sorry I haven't been checking in regularly. We live in Colorado and have bought a home in Kansas. Last week we closed on the home, so we took a trip out. This is the second trip to Kansas this month and I am leaving again on Monday. I haven't been able to weigh on the trips, I just weigh when I arrive back home. Of course my weight moved up but I had some edema from driving 9 hours and I have a UTI.....this month has been crazy, and I like predictable! I love being a part of the weigh-in and on my next trip I will be able to purchase a new scale for the new house, as we will be living between both Colorado and Kansas for a year.

Default To Bevangel and Everyone On This Thread

Wahoo! You did it! 170's! I can tell you're pumped and high-fiving yourself with that RED font. Congrats.

Thanks for the tip on changing my profile info. I appreciate it.

I hit my goal of losing 10 pounds this month for 2 days and then went up a pound this morning. So I know why everyone gets a little frustrated when the arc isn't always downward. But those mini-stalls and plateaus are normal and expected when one loses weight..on any diet. Standing on the scale every morning watching the blow-by-blow description of our weight-loss is probably not the wisest thing to do (every expert, including the Atkins folks, tell you to weigh only once a week or at least irregularly) because these little rises or leveling offs or going back downwards, can demotivate and depress some people. Just be aware that it IS normal and happens to everyone, so we will all get our turn at it occasionally as well.

Keep up the good work everyone. One day left to see if we can, like Bevangel says, "stick" the landing tomorrow and finish off the month of July strong. August will dawn a new day and we can redeem ourselves by "sticking" with this WOE. Good luck, folks.
