Hi Paula.
The thing about low carb diets is that they pretty much render weight loss drugs unnecessary. Far too many potential side effects with weight loss drugs, and nothing but benefit from eating low carb.

Hi Paula, yeah I did I'm ashamed to say. Before I had any idea of the state of my adrenals & thyroid, I was desperate to lose some weight before my wedding. I tried the diet pills you can get at the supermarket, of course they didn't work at all. I then went to a very suggestible doctor and he prescribed Duramine.

After spending $115 for a month's supply, I took 1 pill a day for 3 days then ended up extremely sick for several months due to vertigo. No doctor could tell me what was wrong - I googled the s**t out of it and eventually figured it out.

I knew I was right when Brandt-Daroff exercises fixed it in a couple of days. I was seriously annoyed, it cost me 2 months where I could have been putting effort into losing weight instead of having unpaid time off for being nauseous all the time.

Long story short - DON'T DO IT!!!

Hi,
Moderator Rosebud is so right. I wonder if some of the opposition to low carbing doesn't also come from the pharma industry! People are so desperate to lose weight they would try almost anything and yet all you have to do (in most cases) is cut out certain foods that you probably won't miss after a while. I wouldn't have believed it if I hadn't tried it myself.
However, you may want to check out some nutritional supplements. Atkins has some recommendations. I take a magnesium tablet with vitamin C and some cod liver oil some mornings, when I remember.
