Waitrose do a very good bread with linseed and soya. I worked it out to about 7g a slice - a bit high, but one to think about if you're on maintainance.

I appologise if this has already been mentioned it's just too big a thread to search through.

ASDA now stock macadamia nuts in the baking section but most shockingly they now stock spaghetti squash!

Wow! It's off to ASDA then - I've always wanted to try macadamia nuts. The good doctor made such a thing of them.

I like macadamia nuts but I prefer cashews - could eat them all day!

Tesco now stocks spaghetti squash too - in their mixed squash section. I found 'turban' squash too which is GORGEOUS! (Also known as buttercup and also something beginning with K that I can't remember.)

It's a dark green one, slightly flattened in appearance. Halve it, scoop out the seeds, brush with olive oil and roast. Great!

Asda's "Melba Toast" ~ 48p a packet for 30 'slices' is only 2.5g of carbs per slice but they are teeny, I use them instead of 'crackers', spread liberally with butter and any topping I feel the need for

Asda also sell the 'Alpro Soya milk' at £1.27 a litre, which I need to add that 'milky' taste back to my tea, a 50ml 'shot' is 1.4g of carbs ( I like my tea milky)

I also noticed my local 'Holland & Barrett' were still having a half price sale on many items. So I picked up a 100 tablet jar of their 'Super One' multivitamins for £6.99 , 7p a tablet sounded pretty good

As for macadamia nuts, Tesco's (at least in Hendon, London) carried them for a long while (own brand) - little 60g bags for 99p each. YUMMY!!

Hmmm... could ANY cheese contain 0 carbs? Are you sure about this? 100% positive? Sounds a bit "undoable"... Sure this isn't another ""per serving" trickster? (see "Hidden carbs" article up in orange bar - "Low Carb Tips"...)

/gil - who irregulary shops in London...

If I suspect things that say 0 carbs might have 0.9, I put them in fitday as 0.9.
Sometimes they say 'less than 0.1', so I might put them in as 0.09
It saves any possibility of losing carbs in the sums.

Rand,
COOP unswetened soya milk (avaulable in usual or organic) is less than one carb per 100 - and the normal stuff is only about 69p. I have it in coffee with a touch of double cream.

Talking of the Co-op, they do nice chilled and frozen chicken dishes. I got a chicken in red wine and bacon, 6 carbs the whole pack and a chicken in white wine and cream - about the same carb count. It's raw chicken with a sauce packet and you just pour the sauce over and cook!

Default Low carb in Ayrshire

Hi Folks,

Not a supermarket I know but the Jan De Vries Health shop in Prestwick Main Street(South Ayrshire) now stocks Atkins bars. Chocolate Decadence and Forest Fruits £1.89 each. They also have Atkins breakfast bars Strawberry or Apple Crisp at £4.99 for a box of 5.
The lady in there seems quite keen to get more products in if demand is high enough.

Regards

Kenny
