Default What soft foods would you eat?

I've had a tooth extraction and was given the following list of foods to eat:

Mashed potatoes
oatmeal
pudding
applesauce
cream soups
overcooked pasta, eggs (after 2nd day)

So far I have smashed the heck out of an avocado, twice, and blended a can of lentil soup. It said on the list to avoid yogurt but I did buy some plain Greek, thinking they might have meant because of fruit pieces?

Anyway, no seeds, nuts, berries, (I usually eat all of those every day), crackers, bread, granola or anything tough to chew. After 72 hours I can go back to a regular diet.

Anyway just thought I might be overlooking something obvious.

Ok. I googled LC soft diet and was reminded of alfredo sauce (over very soft zucchini) and over cooked, mashed cauliflower.

In my defense, I have been pretty much dairy free for going on 2 years and besides the yogurt, it just didn't occur to me. Going to shop for cream, butter, cauli, zucchini and parm - and I should be good to go.

How about scrambled eggs, nut butter, home-made jello or a protein shake?

Yes, scrambled eggs after day 3, nut butter I am not sure about because of the grit and I'm instructed to not use suction to eat or drink (weirdly not easy to do). I did buy SF jello tonight. And now I'm remembering that a friend gave me some chocolate protein powder that I stashed in the cabinet. I wonder what I should mix it with. I have almond milk on hand...I should make ice cubes with it (!! but I don't have ice cube trays )

Thanks Deirdra!

I've become a fan of the mashed steamed cauliflower. I add half a block of cream cheese and about 4oz of monterey jack or mozzarella. If you run it through a food processor it comes out really smooth & creamy like real mashed potatoes and you would not have the "little bits" getting in the socket.

(Not dairy free but tasty )

Tuna mayo with well-mashed tuna and a higher percentage of mayo than usual?

You just reminded me there is a type of tuna that is really fine - I used to get the solid albacore, which is more tough. I can't remember what the finer kind is called but I'll know it when I see it. Thx.

Warm up some broth and drink it. It kills hunger for a bit.
