Default lowcarb/lowcalorie/lowfat?

Does anybody count caloriesor fat along with counting carbs? Now that my weight is off, I feel like I should reduce some of the fat in my diet. Can I get some opinions please? Julie

THis is my opinion. Is fat giving you any problems? Is there any undue weightgain, or lipid problems? Are you healthy? If you can answer yes to these then I wouldn't worry about it. You are supposed to reduce your fats as you get to maintenance but that is so you can maintain. If you are maintaining then don't worry.

I have switched to the G.I. diet. This is a low fat high fiber diet. I also watch my carb intake ( I doubt if I will ever eat 'bad carbs" again)

I feel soooo much better eating low fat, I have more energy and I have also lost inches since I have started. In my opinion, low fat/low carb is the way to go.

Lisa, help, where do I find this diet? It sounds like what I've been looking for. Thanks for your help...

The recomended fat % on the GI diet is 30-40%, protein 20% and net carbs end up at 180-200g of mostly complex carbs. Just so you know... it is not all that lowfat.

It kinda look like this on a almost 2000 calorie diet:
Calories:1989/Fat: 91 40%/Carbs:202 40%/Protein:104 20%

DaRosa, are you losing on this plan?
I've been doing lcarb for so long, it looks scarey to me to add all those carbs in. I'm at about 80 carbs now but just wanted to reduce my fat some.
Any other plans out there for someone like me?
Julie

Im not on that plan. I just know some about it and it is very similar to the Atkind maintainanse. The woman who asked for these %es was wondering how she should eat to maintain... so this should be it for you. I dont know how many calories you should eat but you could just slowly add upp until you gain a little and then you know you limit kinda. Atkins sais the fat% should be at 45... so it is very similar. Good luck!

I don't count carbs, but I do limit my intake of starchy carbs and skip refined grains and sugar (ALL sugars).

I don't count fat, but I do stick to good fats only - mainly flaxseed oil and extra-virgin olive oil, plus some fatty (salmon and mackerel, a couple of times a week) and borage oil supplements (great for women!!)

I definitely don't count calories, though I have to admit that when I am being particularly successful and doing well (losign weight and inches, lots of energy, etc) I log on fitday and input my food intake for a few days, to see what calorie range and macro-split I'm on, mainly to see what I do best on.
