Smile Newbie here

Hi...I'm new to this board and wanted to jump in and say hi. I'm Sherry and I live in Georgia, but am originally from Florida (GO GATORS!). I have two kids, a 20-year-old daughter who is in her second year of college and a 17-year-old son who is in 10th grade. I have been married for almost (gasp!) 20 years and my DH is in the military and is getting close to retirement. I am 37 years old (yes, I was married and had my first child VERY VERY young) and have recently restarted the CAD WOL. I am doing really well on it and also walk on the treadmill at the gym five days a week. Well, that's enough about me for now. Just wanted to introduce myself and not keep lurking. I am SO glad I found this board because everyone around me thinks this way of eating makes no sense even though I have already lost a pretty good amount of weight this time while enjoying my way of eating, how energized I feel and having good success. I look foward to getting to know all of you.

Smile Welcome Aboard!

I found this site recently myself. It is great finding a place where everyone understands what you are going thru.

Your have lost a lot of weight. How long have you been on CAD?

I'm sure you have some helpful hints you might be able to share for all of us here. Glad you decided to post and let us know you're here.

Thanks for the welcome Scotty. I just realized I have lost 37 pounds!!!! When you said "You have lost a lot of weight. How long have you been on CAD? " I was thinking, I I haven't lost that much, but whipped out the trusty ol' calculator and darned if I haven't lost quite a bit. Thanks for the reminder.

I have been on CAD since November and lost about 10-15 pounds during the first two weeks. From that point on it has been pretty steady loss. I am also walking 35-50 minutes on the treadmill with inclines five days a week. I've found that a book distracts me from how long I have been on there and makes it go by MUCH faster.

Have a good night.

Hello Sherry and welcome,

You have done fantastic, it seems like you are doing everything right. Keep up the good work.

This web site has been my salvation. If you have questions or just need to vent, this is the place. I really love the recipe section and have tried quite a few in the last few days. The weight is starting to come off.

I, too, was a young mother. I was 19 and tell my daughter that I grew up with her.

Anyway, I'm glad you are doing so well and it makes me want to try even harder when I read someone's thread like your's. Hope to hear more from you.
