Default Giving up and going low carb

I always find writing introduction posts awkward. I'm in my late 30's, with multiple health conditions. I need to lose half my body weight. So here I am, trying something that hopefully will help.

I am doing LCHF with no dairy and strict gluten avoidance due to lactose intolerance and celicac. I am also avoiding any low carb "junk food" except for the very occasional Halo Top.

I did low carb back in my late teens and it worked great, but went away the moment I started eating junk. This time I am determined to make a change, and not treat this as a diet.

Becoming half your former weight is pretty awesome. Trust me on that. Make low carb how your eat for life and it will happen for you, too. Making this a lifestyle is what it takes for people like us. We really have no choice. Once we accept that we can put the junky carbs behind us and get our lives back. Make cheating not an option. Hang out here for information and support. Start a journal. This way of eating will be hard at first, but with time on plan it will get easier. Make it happen. You will be so glad that you did.

Welcome and good luck this time around! I used to think of past attempts at weight loss as "failures" but recently read a blog that said each thing you try is learning and gets you one step closer to success. I find it a true and positive concept. :-)
