Unhappy Advice on free weights

Hi everyone,

A few months ago, my sister bought me a set of Weider free weights from Sears, but I'm having problems finding a good exercise sheet showing the various exercises I can do with the weights. Suprising it didn't come with such a sheet...

Does anyone have a sheet or something that'll show the various exercises I can do with free-weights? I'd like to find something that'll works various parts of the body.

Thanks for any suggestions or ideas. I have almost no experience with weight lifting, so I need something with pictures

Thanks,

Sam

Default One book for beginners...

I am 46 year old too, started weight training 2 years ago. With 3-12 lbs dumbbells. (From Target:-))
My starter book was: Workouts for Dummies by Tamilee Webb. You can find it in public libraries, in bookstores - take a look in it.
This book explains the basics, and does not require gym. Despite of the "dummies" in the title, this book is serious. (Includes similar exercises than bodybuilder books, the only difference that Tamilee starts with 5- 10 lbs instead of 50-100 lbs.)
Fully illustrated, giving advices how to increase/decrease intensity, how to create a workout plan etc.

(There are many dummies books about weight training, but all other require gym equipments.)

There are several websites that show cool movie clips of people actually doing the exercises. Search for "exercise demonstration video" or something like that.

Hi samalex,

Galadriell is right.
Before looking for exercise sheets, you should familiarize yourself with the lifting protocols and methods.

A good start would be exrx.net.
Then, go to www.testosterone.net if you are serious about weights.
Also take a look at abcbodybuilding.com and johnberardi.com and ruggedmag.com.

Good luck

Loony
