Default Slow Burn Anyone?

Does anyone here do the slow burn? I just read the book and have come up with my own tailored slow burn. Not sure how well it will be. The reason being is I do not want to do the at home method because I have a strength training machine, the Total Gym. The gym method is not tailored to my machine. There are only two exercises I can perform on my machine at are listed. I am using the same theory however, heavier weights only a few reps. Any opinions are welcome.

I enjoy using this machine versus my treadmill any day. I was doing four days per week, two miles per day and I really feel I was not doing anything just like they talk about in the book. I really have high hopes for my slow burn method. If the method is the same but the exercises are just different it still should do something.

I have done the slow burn. I liked it but I like to vary my routines as well.

ShayKNJ,

I started using the 'Slow Burn' exercise concept with my Total Gym equipment about 2 years ago and was very happy with the initial results. However, I quickly found that when it was time to increase the resistance, moving the slide up one notch usually increased the 'weight' too much for most upper body exercises. Since I couldn't figure out a way to safely attach weight plates to my Total Gym, I bought a set of dumbells and a bench which I now use (so my Total gym is gathering dust!) Slow Burn/Super Slow exercise protocols. I still think the Total Gym would be good to use if I could find a way to add weight in smaller increments. Yes, I am aware that with the newer, top line, machines one can add a barbell and weights. But I don't have one of these machines nor am I planning on getting one! If you would like to discuss this further please contact me via email.

Andy
