Sheila, I lost 50+ pounds a while back doing Atkins. This was probably before I talked to you about it.

THEN, we went on our 10 year wedding anniversary honey moon (the only one we've been on).

Did you know, I FORCED myself to eat crappy? I don't understand WHY.. but I did. I told myself I was "off" for the trip and purposefully made bad food choices.

When I got home.. I have NEVER been the same. It's a battle to get back on.

I know when I'm on for a month or so.. going off... makes me physically ill.

I'm looking forward to when I am so on again that I cannot go off like last time.. and know it is a lesson learned.

I'm scratching my head on this. I guess I don't understand this either.
Just wondering.

I haven't actually gone off plan since I started this WOE. It's been since April - so about 9 months - and the thought of going back to my old carb-loaded diet scares the crap out of me. The friend who first introduced me to lc has fallen off the wagon and regained all her weight, plus more. I'm quite worried about that happening to me, so I'll try and stick to VLC

i can understand the thought process behind that. foods you used to enjoy associated with good times, and a honeymoon or vacation is supposed to be effortless. but what isn't obvious is that carby starchy foods that used to taste good taste like CRAP when you haven't eaten them for a long time, and your gut can't handle the overload. it's a vicious cycle. just file this experience away for the next time you think you might want to do that, "for old times' sake" and avoid it. been there, done that.

If you think you have a carb addiction then why would you continue to feed your addiction? It has to be all or nothing with an addition. If you want to "feel" in control and have your addiction under control you cannot eat one bite of the things that trigger your addicted behaviors. If you think you can "handle it" then go back and mentally think about all the times you "handled it" before and see how it really worked for you. My name is LaJauna, and I am a carbaholic.

For me, it's not that I can't control myself. I can. My body just can't handle it. So the real question is :Why would I purposely torture myself?

Even one meal off plan and I feel like total crap...... I get bloated and my IBS flares. It's NO FUN!

I've been less strict with myself lately and I am definitely paying the price with tummy troubles!!!!!! Back to basics, as of right now.

This could be my post. Anything off plan causes major bloat and discomfort. I don't have IBS, but feel for those who do. I am trying to get back on track and I don't want to wait until after Christmas to do it!

I definitely feel it. When I go off plan I usually feel like crap physically. My stomach is stuffed, I'm sick, backed up... it's awful. However, today I did go off plan and I had some breaded catfish and french fries... I feel wonderful! (PMS needs carbs, lol)

For example.. My dh decided to go to starbucks. I hate coffee. Becuase I was "off plan".. a mindset I had.. I decided to get one of their smoothie things. I could barely finish half of it, it was too sweet.. but I drank it anyway not wanting to waste.

Yeah.. I have issues.. Wanted to share where I'd been.
