Default Dr. Mike blogs on the 'calorie is a calorie' debate...

on Sept 11 I was a bit too busy to read my blog mail, and am just now catching up. On Sept. 11, Dr. Mike blogged on the whole 'calorie is a calorie' controversy, and ante'd up with two studies which illustrate that:
1) the human body does not metabolize all calories in the same way
2) the human body does not treat all calories the same way regarding weight gain/loss.

Interesting blog, and even more interesting comments.

I didn't really read the blog, but I did read the comments.

I'll tell you that just reading Dr Mike's responses to the comments puts me in a good mood! He must be a really nice, fun guy to be around.

I especially loved the reply where he said that one should avoid Dean Ornish and all dieticians. Then he told someone else that Dr's aren't taught to think...and he knew b/c he used to be one. Then sweet Mallory from our own midst, typed a comment in all caps...and he responded to her in all caps.

He just makes me laugh. MD must have quite a life being married to him. And I mean that in a good way.
