Hi Karen, I am planning to make your Pumpkin Chiffon Pie recipe for Thanksgiving. I understand that liquid Splenda is no longer available, but I have Splenda packets & am wondering how much to use intead. Do you have any suggestions?
I'm not sure about the packets, but 1/2 cup of the boxed powder should do it.
For the packets, you can cook the custard without any sweetener and then add the packets to taste before folding in the egg whites. Start with 8 packets and go from there,
Thanks Karen! Are Splenda packets not the same as the bulk powder? I wish I had bought bulk instead of packets. I hate having to rip open and throw away all those little paper wrappers. But I hardly ever use sweetener so it's going to be a while before I use it up.
Dear Karen
I'm having trouble finding "plain whey protein powder".
I'm trying to find one without soy, or flavouring. Does it exist?
Many thanks, in advance
Portail
ps. I love your Low-Carb Gourmet cookbook
Hello Karen
In your Low Carb Gourmet Cookbook, how do we know when you mean the light fluffy loose Splenda or the Splenda in packets.
For example on Page 276, the No-Bake Vancouver Cheesecake says 1½ each Splenda and Canadian Sugar Twin or 2 Tbsp Splenda. I presume the larger amount refers to fluffy?
I find that the light fluffy Splenda really does not sweeten. I often add three times the amount called for, and it still is not sweet.
