Question Headaches in Beginning

Hello All,

Im new to this forum. I found it off of google. There are a couple threads on headaches but none have what Im looking for or any answers. My roomate and I started the diet 5 days ago and the very first day we both had this mild headache. The second day the same. Then on the weekend it was ok and my roomate realized that she didint have to cut down on caffeine so abruptly. Her headaches improved. I had no headaches during the weekend. But today Monday 5th day after eating and drinking enough water I still have a headache. I have been following the diet to a tee and drinking more than enough water. Does anyone know why I may be getting these? Please help, Im trying to figure it out.

Natalie

Hi Natalie,

You didn't say how you had been eating prior to going on the diet. The Schwarzbein Principle plan is very good at balancing your entire body, and you'll find (especially at first) that you will begin to process toxins that have been stored in your cells. This is especially true when you begin the plan, and it is intensified if you have been consuming lots of junk (junk food, coffee, etc.). The toxins are removed from the cells but must be processed out of your body. They are literally poison to your system, and you may feel terrible for several days.

After 2 weeks (max) you should be feeling much better - likely much better than you have in a long time.

Blessings,

-Don

Default Hey

Thank You Don! I figured that much, but I never have caffeine becasue I get really anxious when I do. So I wasnt sure what was going on becasue normally I never get headaches, and I am drinking lots of water. I thought maybe its the alcohol. I always have a couple beers after work and Ive been craving them for the last 7 days Ive been in the program. Maybe it has to do with that and all the sweets too. Thanks for your response.

What do you think about all the eggs on the diet I posted somehting about that too. I was a little concerned about it as well.

Thank you

Natalie

Hi Natalie,

I can identify with what your reaction to caffeine; my body has never been able to tolerate it (as much as I love the taste of Mountain Dew, just can't "dew" it).

As to the eggs, I've never found that to be a problem. Eggs are nearly a perfect food, if you don't have allergies to them (my wife and I consume nearly 2 dozen eggs a week!).

You didn't mention exercise, but I'll assume you're doing some (and not to excess). Those toxins that get released get cleaned out by the lymph system, which has no pump like the blood system does. So it relies on movement. For some of us who sit in front of a computer monitor all day long (I'm definitely including myself here , that exercise has to be intentional.

Keep up the good work!

Blessings,

-Don

I get headaches from sugar withdrawal. I've stopped sugar a few times: if sugar is higher than 5th on a list of ingredients in something, I don't eat it. As most of us know by now, sugar (especially corn and fructose syrup) is in nearly everything in the US. I'm surprised you can still buy water without sugar

Anyway, sugar withdrawal can be wicked for some people. I've known lots of people who went through it. Happier afterwards, but a couple of weeks were not so much fun.

I know this thread started months ago, but I'm tossing this in for future generations.

Hi everyone: I am amazed that water you can buy does have sugar in it, or even worse, aspartame. Why would anyone want that? I'm talking about the mildly flavored waters here. You're right, nearly everything has sugar or sweetener in it. I've always checked this because I have an alarming reaction to aspartame and have to make sure that it's not in anything I eat.

I also had headaches for five or six days when starting this program: so did my husband and so did my daughter. But then the fog starts to lift and you feel better than you have in a long time. For me it was such a relief to start feeling like my old self again.
